The Project Brief
The client came to Pent Haus searching for a fully insulated, self-build garden room to expand their living space. Their primary criteria were long-term low maintenance, high-spec insulation, and a solid structure that would easily accommodate plasterboarding on the interior for a clean, house-quality finish.

High-performance insulation is integrated throughout—600mm double joists with 60mm PIR insulation in the walls and 75mm EPS insulation in the floor and roof—delivering an all-season, thermally efficient building envelope that easily accommodates internal plasterboarding for a house-quality finish.

Maintenance-Free ToughWood™ Composite Cladding: Finished in our unique composite ToughWood™ in Cedar shade, offering the natural aesthetics of timber without the hassle. It’s mould-, fungal-, and UV-resistant, ensuring it won’t crack, peel, or require annual staining.

Natural Light Maximisation: A 1.8m central French door flanked by dual 600mm sidelights opens up the garden view, paired with a right-hand full-length picture window featuring a top-opener to draw light deep into the space.

Architectural Overhang & Seamless Foundation: Mounted on the Pent Haus Foundation Pack with heavy-duty posts to create a breathable, level base, completed with a matching 600mm x 4.2m front overhang and seamless EPDM rubber roofing for long-term weather protection.
